September Menu Plan

Hello September and goodbye August!!!! We're inching closer and closer to fall here in North Texas and I'm so excited! I can't wait for cooler days, chilly nights, fall comfort food and the beginning of fall baking!!! 🍂 I really think the 108 - 110 degree temps are finally behind us. It's been a brutal summer for us and our garden.

On the brighter side, our garden has been good to us this year and I was able to can and freeze a lot of food for fall and winter. Currently we have some winter squash (butternut, honey nut and sugar pumpkins) growing in the garden. It's been a struggle trying to keep them thriving in the heat, but I think they just might make it. We also have some okra, more corn, and a second crop of green beans growing for fresh eating.

Our freezer is also filled with about 50lbs of tomatoes to make marinara sauce as soon as the weather cools down enough to can. The remainder of the tomatoes were used to make several jars of salsa, pizza sauce and stewed tomatoes. It's been a good summer, but I'm ready for Fall!!!

Today I have our September Menu Plan for you. This month's menu is filled with simple family- friendly meals and delicious desserts. Any recipes noted (New) are recipes I plan to make and will post in the near future. I hope you'll find something you like.
