My Texas Table Newsletter - Our Best Red, White & Blue Recipes

Happy Friday Friends!

I hope everyone is doing well?  The heat here in North Texas is getting an early start this year, so we've been spending most of our time indoors. We have been venturing out to the garden on a daily basis but mainly early in the morning or late in the evening when the sun starts to set. Our raised bed vegetable garden is doing really well and some of our plants are already starting to produce. I've included a photo below so you can take a peek at our garden.

This year we tried the Ruth Stout Method of Gardening and so far so good. Our potatoes did awesome (Kennebec, Red Potatoes and Yukon Gold) so they have since been harvested and corn has been planted in it's place. I can't wait to start harvesting the rest of the vegetables and fruits as they all come in. So far it looks like it's going to be a good year. If you would like more information on the Ruth Stout Method of Gardening click here to view her information video.

This sun tea recipe is getting a lot of attention over on the blog. Sun Tea is a nostalgic beverage from childhood that brings back so many good memories and a delicious way to enjoy summer! If you're not familiar with sun tea it is a method of slow cold water brewing tea in direct sunlight. This technique produces a gentle smoother iced tea. I grew up on sun tea and still enjoy it today.  Click here to get the full instructions on how you can make your own sun tea.

Recipes that I found online (not mine) that I can't wait to share with you.
A couple weeks back, I came across this Ground Beef Lo Mein and these easy Peach Fritters while scrolling through the Internet.  I'm always on the look out for new dinner meals using ground beef, so I can't wait to try the Ground Beef Lo Mein recipe. I also love apple fritters, so these peach fritter looks simply scrumptious. Seasonal Recipe, Craft or DIY  Project that I think you'll like.
I love to garden and I have always wanted a Produce Gathering Apron, but they can be pretty pricey. If you love to garden like I do and you're looking for a simpler way to gather all your garden goodies in one place, think about making a produce gathering apron. This apron pattern is super simple and is perfect for gathering produce or eggs from the hen house. I've actually made three of these aprons for gifts and everyone loved them.  Click here to view the full tutorial on how to make this simple Gathering Apron.
