Dehydrating & Drying

Drying (dehydrating) food is one of the oldest and easiest methods of food preservation. Dehydration is the process of removing water or moisture from a food product. Removing moisture from foods makes them smaller and lighter. Dried foods are tasty, nutritious, lightweight, easy to prepare, and easy to carry. Depending on the food, you can use a dehydrator, oven, solar, or air drying method.

AIR DRYING FRESH HERBS: is my new favorite way to dry herbs, using a mesh drying rack. This method retains the color of the hervs versus oven drying.
