I'm excited to share a beloved dinner recipe that my family adores! Tater Tot Casserole is a hit with both kids and adults alike. While I have a soft spot for casseroles, my husband isn't as enthusiastic, so I try to limit how often I make them.
Among the various Tater Tot Casserole recipes out there, this one is my absolute favorite. It features all the classic ingredients: ground beef, tater tots, cream of mushroom or chicken-mushroom soup, and cheddar cheese. It's simple yet delicious, making it a perfect choice for family dinners.

While I usually opt for Ore Ida's Crispy Crowns because of their crunchiness, I had to settle for a regular store brand of tater tots this week, and the dish still turned out wonderfully. If you're in search of a quick and easy weeknight meal, this recipe is definitely worth trying.

Oh, I've never used sour cream in my tater-tot casserole, I'm going to, what a brilliant addition! (I always add a tablespoon of sour cream to my banana nut bread, it's great to keep on hand)

When I do this at home I also like to add a layer of green beans before adding the soup and sour cream mixture.

I don't even brown the ground beef first. Just let it bake at the bottom of the dish like a meatloaf with the tots on top. Been making it since my college days.
