Football Food & Game Day Recipes

Well it's that time again........ Football Season! In my house it's all about Football for my guys, but for me it's all about the food. I don't know why, but I have never really been much of a football fan. Well, that's unless it's high school football.

There's just something about High School Football and school spirit that really gets me going. I love being a part of it all, especially if my oldest son is playing. When it comes to NFL and College Football I really don't care a for it. Even though I don't get involved in the actual game I do love all the fun that surrounds it.

I guess you can say when it comes to football my job is in the kitchen and I love it!!!! It's so fun planning an preparing all the yummy food for everyone. This month Walmart challenged me to post some of my favorite football food and snack ideas and share them with my readers.

So, today's post is all about football food!!!! When it comes to tailgating and football food I always try to keep it simple. I usually lean more towards simple dishes and finger foods that transport easily. Let's face it folks they won't be eating in the dining room, so finger foods, dips and easy to carry items are a must.

I usually don't plan any party without making Velveeta's Famous Queso Dip. It's the one recipe I can count on to please everyone. Eat it plain or add in some browned ground beef, sausage or canned chili for a cheesy chili dip. You really can't go wrong with this recipe.

If you prefer a white cheese dip, try this Mexican White Queso DipThis simple White Queso Dip (Queso Blanco) is similar to the cheese sauce served at Mexican restaurants.

One of my all time favorite game time treats is this Copy Cat version of Wingers Famous Sticky Fingers. These always get rave reviews and everyone loves them. Sticky fingers are delicious chicken strips smothered in an amazing sweet and spicy sauce.

The franks hot sauce gives these chicken strips the perfect amount of heat without going overboard. My kids eat them so their not too hot. These chicken strips are a must at your next game day event.

These 4 ingredient sweet and savory Crock Pot Party Meatballs  are always a party favorite and perfect for holidays, game day get togethers and a hungry crowd.

These Hot Wing Drumettes  are lightly seasoned and breaded chicken drumettes smothered in a hot sauce mixture of Louisiana hot sauce and butter. They're the perfect football food!!!

When we have friends over I like to have a variety of things to please everyone. These Marketside Fruit & Vegetable Trays are a perfect choice. The trays come in a variety of fruits, vegetables and dipping sauces.

Hot dogs are easy and always a hit. Instead of you plane Jane hot dog why not serve these yummy Texas Chili Dogs.  A Texas style chili dog is a hot dog that's served with chili con carne (without beans) and topped with various toppings such as, cheese, onions, and mustard.

This Coney Dog sauce is made with ground meat, tomato paste, onions, garlic and spices to make the famous Coney Island sauce for hot dogs that everybody loves.

Cowboy Dogs are grilled hot dogs topped with honey barbecue baked beans, caramelized onions, crumbled bacon, and cheddar - jack cheese.

These bite size Buffalo Chicken Cups will be the hit of your next game day party. This easy appetizer starts with crispy baked  won ton cups that are filled with a buffalo chicken filling, and topped with shredded cheese and green onions.

I have to say I couldn't pull off any of this without my triple crock pot system. Goodness this thing makes my life so much easier when it comes to entertaining. I can cook the coney island sauce in one crock pot, warm up the hot dogs in another and cook the Queso dip in the third. Everything stays nice and warm and everyone can serve themselves easily. I ♥ my triple crock pot.

Don't forget the chips, buns, hot dog fixins, drinks and sturdy disposable plates. When clean up time rolls around you'll be glad you did.
