The Homemade Pantry

Here you will discover how to stock your pantry, refrigerator, and freezer with the necessary staples to maintain a well-organized and effiecient homestead kitchen.

Create a 5 Gallon Food Storage Pantry - I am not an expert at dry storage, but this system works for us. We store the majority of our bulk dry goods in 5 gallon buckets and keep them in our clanning closet, so everything we need is in one place. We vacuum seal the packages first and then store them into food grade buckets. with oxygen absorbers. The dry goods that we store are oatmeal, rice, pasta, homemade pasta, dry beans, sugars, and a variety of flours.
