These are the ingredients you will need:
Ground Beef, Mexican Cheese Blend, Onion, 1 Packet Taco Seasoning, Tomato Sauce, Water, Sour Cream, Corn Tortilla Chips and Crescent Roll Dough. I accidentally grabbed the wrong cheese, so I used cheddar, but the Mexican cheese blend is so much better.
Preheat oven to 350 in large skillet brown beef and onion over medium heat till done, Drain any grease.
Nacho Pie
1 lb Ground Beef, browned
1/2 Cup Chopped Onion
1 - 8oz Can Tomato Sauce
¾ Cup Water
1 - Packet Taco Seasoning Mix
1 - Tube Pillsbury Crescent Roll Dough
1 1/2 Cup Crushed Corn Doritos or Any Brand Corn Tortilla Chips
1/2 cup Sour Cream
1 - Cup Kraft Mexican Cheese Blend
additional sour cream for garnish, diced tomatoes and sliced black olives.
Preheat oven to 350 in large skillet brown beef and onion over medium heat till done. Drain off any grease. Stir in tomato sauce, water and taco seasoning. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 - 10 minutes. Separate Crescent rolls into 8 triangles. Place in greased 9 inch pie plate points facing towards the middle. You might have to maneuver the triangles a bit at the end and turn some of them side ways, that's OK as long as the pie plate is covered completely. Press onto bottom and up sides of plate to form crust. Seal perforations. Sprinkle 1 cup crushed Doritos over crust. Top with meat mixture. Using a spatula spread sour cream over meat. Sprinkle the Cheese and then remaining 1/2 cup crushed Doritos. Bake 30 - 40 minutes or until cheese melts, pie is bubbly and crust is golden brown. Cool 10 minutes before cutting. Add a dollop of sour cream, diced tomatoes and black olives for garnish. If the crust starts to brown to quickly cover the pie plate with foil from the bottom and up around the sides to cover crust. See Photo.
Serve with a salad and your meal is complete.

I was sold from the moment I read the name "nacho pie." That looks absolutely incredible. My mouth is watering!
I cant wait to try this! I am sure my family is gonna love it!
Wow, that sounds fantastic!!! Is there a reason you use the crescent rolls instead of a pie crust? Just curious. (I just so happen to have some crescent rolls in the fridge!) I can't wait to give this a try!
Hi Mary, I got this recipe a long time ago from taste of home. Thats what the recipe called for so thats what I always use then i make it. I love crescent roll dough, you can do so many different recipes with them.
That looks beyond delicious!
Yum yum yum!!!! Going to have to print this one out for sure.
What a great idea, this looks so good!
This is delicious, my Mom made this all the time when we were kids. My girls love it too sans the sour cream!
What a fun dish for kids!
Sounds delicious. xD
Ding! SOLD!!! You just put pretty much all my favorite things together, I might add refried beans to a layer, but that's about it! I'm trying this as soon as I can get some crescent rolls.
Thanks so much for another great recipe! We are always looking for new taco ideas. This looks super yummy!!
Wow! That looks great, I think this will be served very very soon. :D
I will be trying this recipe very soon. Did you use nacho cheese doritos or tortilla chips in your recipe?
Sandy it is just plain doritos or any brand tortilla chips.
I made this tonight, and it was great! I left out the sour cream because my husband it weirdly afraid of it, but everyone liked it. It's enough to have again tomorrow, too. That is such an ingenious idea, using crescent dough as a pie crust! Love your recipes.
Anonymous, I am so glad you like this recipe. My oldest son loves this dish. You might be able to sneak a bit of sour cream in next time. You can hardly tell it is added.
I'm gonna fix this soon...probably this week. I know my grands that live with me will love it.
I love your site. Thanks for keeping it REAL! ;)
Oh my son would love this! Great recipe!
I've made something similar but without the cresent pie crust. That's a great idea. My three aren't too keen on casseroles either.

I am making this for dinner tonight and can not wait to try it! My daughter saw me looking at this recipe and insisted we make it. I was not about to say no - this looks amazing!
DO you put Doritos on this also at the end? I see you have Corn Tortilla Chips listed but then for the top it says crushed Doritos. Did I miss something? Just want to make sure before I try this recipe.
It is the Doritos Corn Chips that I use. I add the chips to the bottom and a bit on the top.
Maaaan!!!!! I got a big family so I tripled the recipe and made two thick hearty pies,,It was a instant hit.
Teaching my 14 year old son to make this tonight. His choice because he loves it!
