July Menu & A Gift Basket Winner

Sorry that I am so late posting my July Menu. I'm still trying to get back into my routine after evo 10. Seems like I have so much to do and so little time to get it all done. I have about 6 meals that were carried over from last month, so if you see a few familiar meals that's why. I also have some new meals that I am looking forward to making. I will post those recipes as I make them. I would link them if I could, but all the meals that have (New) next to them are recipes from cookbooks or magazines.

Today I am also posting the winner for the House - Autry Gift Basket. I used random.org to choose a winner. So Congratulations to Comment #129 - Amy - The Delicious Cook. I will be in contact with you asap to get your mailing address. Enjoy your basket packed full of yummy products. If you are a monthly menu planner please link up your July Menu at the end of this post. Remember link to your post not your homepage and please include a link back to Menu Plan Monthly. That way everyone can view all the menu's. Thank you to everyone who participates in MPM.

I have one question: do you deliver?
That menu is just awesome and it is exactly what I need to start doing at our house. I find that in order to save money, I'm making the same 3 or 4 things over and over again. I really need to do this.

Hi tahtimbo, even if you start off small its better than not starting at all. Start with a one week menu and see how you do. You can always go forward from there. I do a months menu because my husband gets paid once a once so that works best for us. Its not for everyone but I can say menu planning makes dinner so much easier.

I have found that menu planning cuts down on food cost. You are far less likely to purchase items you don't really need if you have a plan and stick to it.
I am trying to get in the habit of meal planning. I have to be flexible because of a dad who will blurt out "All I want is a grilled cheese" as I'm getting ready to cook.
I always look forward to your menu list! We had good ol' breakfast for supper tonight - which I see you have early on in your menu plan :)

I agree menu planning makes dinner much easier. All the brain power goes into the plan up front - which then makes into your grocery list. Stick to your list and save $

Thank you! I'm in the process of doing one for next week. I used to do a breakfast for dinner night (your menu reminded me of it), so I think I'll start doing that again. I think I'll also start doing a taco night again, as well.
Thank you again, I'm just tired of standing in the kitchen and trying to decide what to make for everyone and I end up making 3 different meals. There are some nights where I feel more like a short order cook, than a dad.

Hi Bill good for you on menu planning. It really does cut the cost. I am sure you need a few free nights on your menu that work out with your dad. We have those nights as well. I usually plan for 23-25 meals for the month and the remaining days are left for left overs or we can have what we want.

Tricia I try to have breakfast for dinner at least twice a month. That is one of our favorite dinners and the kids love it.
