This Crunchy Asian Slaw is getting lots of traffic over on the blog right now. This sweet and tangy Asian-style slaw gets its crunch from Ramen noodles. Add coleslaw, broccoli slaw, green onions, cilantro, crunchy sesame salad accents and lightly toss in a Ginger - Sesame Vinaigrette. This salad is perfect for cookouts, potlucks and get-togethers

The only time I indulge in regular coleslaw is when were having fried chicken, fried catfish or pulled barbecue sandwiches. Other than that I usually don't eat it. Crunchy Asian Slaw on the other hand, I could eat any day of the week.
I can't recall the first time I tried this Asian slaw, but more than likely it was at a barbecue or cookout. There are several recipes all over the Internet and contain pretty much the same ingredients, cabbage, shredded carrots, Ramen noodles, slivered almonds and a homemade Asian dressing.

Everyone who tries this salad always asks for the recipe. Asian Slaw is one of those salads that I could sit and eat the whole bowl all by myself. Instead of using cabbage and shredded carrots I use packaged coleslaw and broccoli slaw mix.
Start by preheating the oven to 350-degrees. Break up or crush the Ramen noodles and discard the seasoning packet. Place the Ramen noodles and the salad accents in a single layer on a medium baking sheet. Bake the noodle mixture for 10 minutes or until lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and allow the mixture to completely cool. In a large bowl add the coleslaw, broccoli slaw, green onions, and cooled noodle mixture. Pour the ginger sesame vinaigrette over the mixture and lightly toss.
Easy Crunchy Asian Slaw

1 - (3.5 oz) package Marzetti Asian Sesame Salad Accents
3 - cups ready-to-eat coleslaw mix
2 - cups broccoli slaw
4 - 5 green onions, chopped
1 - (12 oz) bottle Marzetti Simply Dressed Ginger Sesame Vinaigrette
fresh chopped cilantro for garnish, optional
Preheat oven to 350-degrees.
Garnish with cilantro and serve immediately to retain it's crunchiness.
Servings: 4
Cook's Note: If making this salad to serve at a later time, or to take to a cookout store the cooled noodle mixture in a large zip lock bag until ready to toss and serve. I have also included a homemade version of the dressing.
Homemade Dressing:
1/2 - cup peanut oil
1/4 - cup sugar
6 - tablespoons rice vinegar
1/2 - teaspoon salt
1/4 - teaspoon pepper
Combine all the ingredients and mix well. Pour the dressing over the salad mixture and lightly toss.

This looks really good. Love coleslaw here also and I agree; slaw goes so well with fried chicken or fish, tilapia on this end.:} We even have it with a pot roast sometimes.
I also buy the packaged slaw (great time saver) so will be making this for sure.
Thanks for the recipe.
Hope you have a wonderful and enjoyable day.

I have a cousin who added cooked chicken chunks to this for a main dish.. so good, it goes fast at family gatherings.
@Donna I have seen that as well. I bet it's good.
Thank you for stopping by Colleen.
This slaw looks like a very flavorful and colorful way to enjoy a spring dish! Can't wait to try!
I love the original version of the Oriental Coleslaw where you make the dressing. I will have to try this version. Also, I have never tried it with the ramen noodles baked before. Am I to assume that makes them crunchier? I will be making this soon and the above comment of adding chicken to it sounds great also.
I love this recipe and I am looking forward to making it but I have only one problem, I live in Ireland and I am unable to get the Sesame accents, can you tell me what I can use instead please. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
I think you could use any asian dressing.
I'm going to use this on fish tacos!
That sounds like a nice option. LMK how the fish taco turn out.
If you make your own dressing, add some sesame oil. I usually add about 1 teaspoon as it has a strong flavor. Black sesame seeds are a nice addition too.
What is broccoli slaw?
Where can one find the Marzetti ingredients?
i love asian anything...i have a great salad dressing recipe...will try this salad soon...sounds so yummy...
Eric Synder try your local Walmart, google it to see it yours carry it local mine does.
I see Marzetti dressing, etc, in the produce dept of the super market, never noticed the seasoning but assume it will be with the dressings
@Eric Snyder everything is located in the produce section.
@Paul King the Marzetti Salad Accents are located in the produce department as well. I found mine on a end cap by the strawberries and bagged salads at Walmart.
This is the best coleslaw ever! All ingredients are available at WalMart stores, except the Salad Accents. I found them one time and since then haven't been as lucky. If I ever find them again I'll buy multiple packages because this truly makes the salad perfect!!
What is broccoli slaw?
Broccoli stalks that has been cut in slivers. Usually found in bags next to cole slaw mix.
Hope that helps.
The broccoli slaw is usually located right next to the bagged coleslaw mix in the produce department.
instead of discarding the beef noodle seasoning packet, I put it in my homemade dressing and it tastes so good.
The seasoning packets have too much sodium for me, so that is why I toss then out.
