Hi everyone and Happy Friday! Have you heard of Biscoff Cookies? I have to admit I wasn't too familiar with them myself, but if you've flown Delta Airlines you might of been lucky enough to sample a package.
What is a Biscoff Cookie you ask? Well here's a little background. Biscoff is the name given to the traditional Speculoos biscuits in North America. It's derived from the combination of the words Biscuit and Coffee.
These delicious cookies owe their unique taste to the caramelization of sugar during the baking process. The cookies have a crisp texture with a caramel cinnamon flavor. Well what's better than a biscoff cookie, but a spread of course.
As a Walmart Mom, I was given the opportunity to sample the new Biscoff Spreads that recently hit the Walmart store shelves. Biscoff spread looks similar to peanut butter, but is nut free. The spread is actually made up of ground biscoff cookies.
My kids were eating it by the spoonfuls! It's sweet, rich and quite addicting to say the least. Biscoff Spread can be used on toast, bagels, pancakes, waffles, fruit and more.
Of course the rich sweet flavor really got my wheels spinning recipe wise. I couldn't wait to get into the kitchen and whip up something with this new spread.

If adding biscoff spread to the batter wasn't enough, I finished the donuts off by dipping them into a biscoff glaze as well. My family inhaled these yummy donuts leaving nothing behind.
Baked Biscoff Cake Donuts
Ingredients:
1 - cup all purpose flour
1/2 - cup sugar
1/2 - teaspoon salt
7 - tablespoons buttermilk
5 - tablespoons creamy Biscoff spread
1 - teaspoon baking powder
1 - egg
1/2 - teaspoon vanilla
1 - tablespoon melted butter
Glaze:
1 - cup powdered sugar
1/2 - teaspoon vanilla
1 - tablespoon Biscoff spread
3 - 4 tablespoons milk
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Add buttermilk, egg, biscoff spread, vanilla and melted butter. Whisk to combine.
Transfer dough to a ziplock bag. Snip off a corner of the bag and pipe dough evenly into a 6-cup doughnut pan. You can also use a pastry bag with a tip as well. Bake for 9-10 minutes, or until dough is set (it won’t be golden brown, but should be springy.)
In a separate bowl, mix together powdered sugar, vanilla and Biscoff spread. Begin adding milk 1 tablespoon at a time. Stir until desired thickness of glaze is achieved. Glaze doughnuts while warm or cool.
