All you need is 4 simple ingredients and your slow cooker to make this smooth and creamy chocolate candy cups.
A while back I saw this recipe at Delightful Country Cookin and it used a combination of German chocolate, chocolate chips and vanilla almond bark. I have to say I really love this combination and there are so many mix in's that you can add.
Instead of dropping the candy onto wax paper, I like to add the chocolate to mini muffin tins and make candy cups. It's so much easier and the mini liners add such a nice touch. Our favorite mix in's are chopped pecans and crispy rice cereal, but you can also use almonds, peanuts, toffee pieces or marshmallows. There's no rule here so just pick your favorites.
Just add all the chocolate to your crock pot and set it on low for 1 hour.
Stir and cook for an additional hour. Stirring every 15 minutes. This particular batch I added peanuts to make peanut clusters. If you want to do something different just add the chocolate to separate bowls and then add your mix in's and spoon into the mini muffin cups that have been lined with mini liners.

Our candy making rolled over into the next day, so the kids and I popped in a Christmas DVD and finished making all of the candy that we had planned. We had such a great time making vanilla pretzels, saltine toffee candy and watching Christmas shows together.
What movie did we watch? Well an old standby of course. The Original Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer!! I love all those old classic Christmas movies from when I was a kid. You know the ones. Frosty the Snowman, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.
I remember when I was a little girl just waiting for all the classic Christmas shows to come on TV. My brother and I would circle the date on the TV guide so we wouldn't miss any of them. Then when they finally came on we would sit together and watch all the Christmas shows and munch on mom's Christmas Butter Cookies.
I sure do miss the days of being a kid and I am so glad all the original classics are still around. It really wouldn't be Christmas If I couldn't watch all of our favorite Christmas movies with my kids.
I was so excited when Classic Media contacted me and asked me if I would review the new Original Christmas Classics DVD Boxed Set in Blue Ray. Now the kids and I don't have to sit back and wait for our favorite classic movies to come on TV. We can just watch them anytime we want and more than just once. So needless to say I am enjoying my very own set of my favorite Original Christmas Classics.
The new boxed set also includes a bonus music CD featuring the songs from the classic movies including “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” (Burl Ives), “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” (Brenda Lee), “Frosty the Snowman” (Jimmy Durante) and “A Holly Jolly Christmas” (Burl Ives) and more! Now we can enjoy all the classic songs in the car as well.

Before I go here is the recipe for the chocolate candy cups. These make a great teacher gift. I like to mix and match candy cups and place them in clear plastic gift bags. Just tie on a pretty ribbon and gift tag.
Chocolate Pecan & Chocolate Crunch Candy Cups
Ingredients:
1 - 24 oz package of white almond bark, chopped
1 - 16 oz package semi sweet chocolate chips
1 - 4 oz package bakers German chocolate bar, chopped
1 1/2 cups pecan pieces & 1 1/2 cups crispy rice cereal
mini muffin liners and mini muffin pan
Instructions:
Spray a 6 quart slow cooker with non stick baking spray. Add the chopped German chocolate bars, almond bark and chocolate chips.
Set the slow cooker to low and let the candy melt and cook for 1 hour (do not stir).
After 1 hour stir the mixture to combine. All to cook for an addition hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
While the chocolate is melting add one mini cupcake liner to each mini muffin cup. After the chocolate is melted separate into two different bowls.
Add pecan pieces to one bowl and crispy rice cereal to the second bowl, stir the mixture in each bowl to combine. Working quickly add the chocolate mixture to each mini muffin cup.
Fill to about 3/4 full. Let the candy cups sit on the counter until the chocolate hardens.
Cook's Note: a few of my favorite mix in's are peanuts, pecans, rice krispies cereal, marshmallows and toffee pieces.
