Chewy Butterscotch Brownies

Christmas is all about making all those wonderful Christmas cookies, candies and bars. Here is another quick bar/brownie recipe for your cookie exchange or Holiday cookie tray. I originally saw this recipe at Bakerella’s site. She used the recipe to make a mini birthday cake for her sister. That little cake was just the cutest. I think I love butterscotch just as much as she does, it's so hard to stop eating all those butterscotch chips. If you re not a big fan of chewy chocolate brownies, I think this is a nice alternative. The original recipe did not call for drizzling chocolate on the top, that was just a perk that I added. I think the Brownies turned out really nice. After removing the brownies from the oven I sprinkled even more butterscotch chips on top and then drizzled on chocolate, I don't think you can have to many butterscotch chips they are so addictive. If you are looking for a change I think this is it.

I apologize for not getting a full photo tutorial, I was pressed for time so I just took a few photos.

Spread into un greased 13x9-inch baking pan. (I sprayed mine with a bit of cooking spray) Sprinkle with remaining morsels.BAKE for 30 to 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

Cool in pan on wire rack.

I sprinkled more butterscotch chips on top of the brownies, then melted some chocolate chips and drizzled that over the top, this is optional but so good!!!!!

cut into bars and serve. These look really cute in clear gift bags with a pretty ribbon or bow tied on.

Chewy Butterscotch Brownies

Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in 1 cup morsels and nuts. Spread into un greased ( I sprayed mine with a bit of cooking spray) 13x9-inch baking pan. Sprinkle with remaining morsels.Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack. If you would like to drizzle chocolate on top by all means do so.
