My favorite recipes are the ones that are snap to toss together. So if those are your favorite recipes as well then I think you are going to enjoy these Smoked Sausage Kabobs. I saw this recipe a couple months back at Tried and True Cooking with Heidi. They looked really easy and they were also a nice change from our regular smoked sausage recipes. The marinade can be prepared ahead of time and then placed in the refrigerator making this recipe even quicker to throw together. We chose to grill our sausage kabobs, but you can also place them in your ovens broiler, which makes these kabobs perfect all year round. I think what I love most about this recipe is that I was able to use so many vegetables from our garden. All I had to purchase was the mushrooms and onions becasue we always have smoked sausage on hand. I am so glad that we are finally getting to use a few items from our vegetable garden. If your looking for a easy tasty meal then I think you will enjoy this recipe.
Smoked Sausage Kabobs
1/3 - cup honey
1/4 - cup spicy brown mustard
2 - tablespoons canola oil
1 - tablespoon soy sauce
2 - garlic cloves, minced
1/2 - tsp minced fresh ginger root
1-1/4 - pounds smoked sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
(I used skinless smoked sausage)
16 - cherry tomatoes
8 - medium fresh mushrooms
1 - large green pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 - medium onion, cut into eight wedges
1 - small zucchini, cut into 1-inch pieces
In a large bowl or zip lock bag, combine the first six ingredients. Add the sausage and vegetables; toss to coat. Drain and reserve marinade. On eight metal or soaked wooden skewers, alternately thread sausage and vegetables. Broil 3-4 in. from the heat for 3-4 minutes on each side or until vegetables are tender and sausage is heated through, basting occasionally with reserved marinade.

This looks yum-i-licious! Your veggies look gorgeous!
So glad you tried them out! I LOVE smoked sausage on the grill. It made my day that you tried one of my recipes and liked it well enough to post about it :)
Mmmmm...looks good! I will have to remember this one. I have 6 healthy zucchini plants in my garden that I will need LOTS of ideas for!
Those look great Tina and perfect for the grill too!
Yum looks so good!
Those look so good! I love smoked sausage, especially when cooked on the grill. I'll bet those made a fantastic meal.
Quick and easy. Colorful too!!!!! I'd probably do a little chicken sausage!!
The marinade sounds really yummy...definitely something I would like!
I made this recipe in the broiler last night. It was delicious! The only major change I made was adding more veggies, including summer squash.
When I saw this post last week, I just had to go check my veggies to see how long before I could try this recipe!! Today is the day - I just picked my first squash and zucchini this morning! Unfortunately, my pepper plants did not sprout and my cherry tomatoes have not blossomed, so store-bought will have to do! Can't wait to taste it all and thanks so much for the post!
