DIY Dollar Tree Photo Frame Vase

The perfect personalized home decor item or handmaid gift made from Dollar Tree items.
I love finding crafts that I can make for hardly nothing. Over the summer, I became obsessed with several YouTube channels and making Dollar Tree DIY's, especially Farmhouse and Holiday crafts. If I've discovered one thing about Dollar Tree it's that the possibilities are endless when it comes to craft making.

My favorite Dollar tree craft is this simple Farmhouse Tiered Tray and it was under $5 to make. I was so happy at how this tray turned out that I made three more.  This past Mothers Day, I wanted to make a personal gift for my daughter in laws first Mothers Day and came across this Photo Frame Vase idea while browsing through my favorite dollar tree face book group. I thought this would be the perfect gift using photos of my grand daughter.

This photo frame vase makes a wonderful handmade keepsake or decoration for a wedding shower, baby shower or graduation party. And the majority of the supplies can be purchased at the Dollar Tree. These personalized photo frames sit perfectly on a mantel, side tables or shelf.  I used black and white photos because they complement the black frames nicely, but you can certainly paint the frames in any color of  your choosing.  Lets get started!!!

These are the supplies you will need: 4 dollar tree picture frames (4 x 6 or 5 x 7 size) 2 sets of artificial flowers, square floral foam, E6000 adhesive, hot glue, glue gun, raffia and wire cutters.

Start by removing the holder on the back of each photo frame. They come off pretty easy, I just gently pulled them back and forth and they lifted off.

Add the photos you want to use into each of the frames. I chose my favorite black and white photos of my grand daughter.

Now glue the photo frames together to form a cube. Use the adhesive in a thin line and towards the inner side of the joint of the frames. Don't use too much or it will leak through the joints and you will see the glue on the outside.

I like to add the E600o adhesive and then use a few dots of hot glue to instantly bond the frames together. The E6000 adhesive will permanently bond the frames but it takes about 72 hours to fully dry. The hot glue just holds the frames together until they dry and makes it easier to work with.

This is what it will look like when all the frames are bonded together.

Use a piece of cardboard, card stock or an extra frame backing to glue the floral form to the bottom so the floral foam has something to adhere to.  Now glue the cardboard or frame backing onto the bottom of the photo cube.

Cut the stems down (using pliers) on the flowers and start pushing them into the foam cube to form a bouquet. I also added some raffia to mine for more of a rustic look. Now place your handmade gift out for everyone to view.
