Fluffy 1-Hour Buttermilk Dinner Rolls

Light anf fluffy dinner rolls are simply irresistible. These rolls are easy to make, quick to prepare, and pillowy soft. They're perfect for holidays, weeknight dinners, or sunday supper.
These buttermilk dinner rolls are truly one of the best dinner rolls I have ever had. While I've praised other recipes before, these rolls stand out above the rest. I've prepared this recipe three times, and each batch has turned out pillowy soft and delicious. The dough is velvety soft and easy to handle—seriously, it's one of the softest yeast doughs I've ever worked with.

During the holidays, I normally shape them into crescents, but they taste just a delicious when formed into knots, or traditional dinner rolls. The best part is that they only requrire a quick 20 minute rise, allowing you to have them ready in roughly an hour. They also freeze wonderfully, making it easy to prepare multiple batches in advance.

To freeze, shape the rolls, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place the pan in the freezer, and let the rolls freeze until until solid (about 3-4 hours). Remove rolls from the baking sheet, and transfer into and air tight freezer bag.
When ready to bake, place the frozen rolls in a greased baking dish and let them thaw and rise at room temperature for 4-5 hours. Bake according to recipe instructions.

These rolls complement any meal, but are especially perfect around the holiday season. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

I tried these rolls and they came out really soft, but I had one issue. After the 20-minute rise, my dough didn't seem to puff up as much as expected, even though the rolls baked through nicely. Has anyone found an easy trick to help the dough rise more quickly without making the rolls less fluffy?
