Stuffed Pepperoni Pizza Waffles

Your kids will love these pizza filled (bread dough) waffles stuffed with mozzarella cheese and pepperonis. These fun little waffles are perfect for an easy lunch or quick after school snack.
Good morning and happy Thursday! Today I have a delicious kid-friendly recipe that you're going to love. It's a fact kids love to eat with their hands, add a dipping sauce to the mix and you have a match made in heaven. I guess in their eyes food is just more delicious eaten that way. Today I'm sharing a yummy finger friendly snack for Stuffed Pepperoni Pizza Waffles.

All you need to make these stuffed pizza waffles are just 3 ingredients and pizza sauce for dipping. I used Rhodes Frozen Rolls for the waffles and then stuffed them full with mozzarella cheese and pepperonis, because that's my kids favorite. I think this recipe would work great with whatever pizza topping you choose.

This recipe is also easy enough that your kids could help you in the kitchen. My daughter is 17 so she made this recipe all by herself while her younger brother hovered over the waffle maker as they cooked. I'm happy to report that my son inhaled two of these right off the bat and loved them.

These pizza waffles are golden brown and crispy on the outside with a soft ooey-gooey cheesy center that your whole family will love. This recipe was such a huge hit that I'm already thinking about what else I can stuff in between these soft yeast roll waffles. That's the great thing about Rhodes frozen dough there are so many endless recipe possibilities.

Pepperoni Stuffed Pizza Waffles:

Ingredients:
12 - Rhodes Dinner Rolls, thawed but still cold
18-24 pepperoni slices
Mozzarella cheese, shredded (about 2 tablespoons per pizza round)
Pizza sauce
Ranch dressing
Waffle maker

Instructions:
Place 12 dinner rolls on a large baking sheet that has been sprayed with baking spray or line with waxed paper. Thaw rolls until soft, but still cold.

Preheat waffle maker and spray with cooking spray or brush with shortening. Roll each thawed dinner roll into a 4 inch flat circle.

Add 3-4 pepperoni slices and 2 tablespoons mozzarella cheese on top. Add another flattened dinner roll on top and press the edges a bit to seal.

Place one dinner roll on the center of the waffle maker. Close lid pressing down firmly, but not too much and cook for 3 -4 minutes or until the waffles are golden brown.

Repeat with the remaining filled dinner rolls. Cool slightly and serve with pizza sauce and ranch dressing.

Prep time: 30 minutes
Servings: 6

Cook's Note: For toddler size pizza waffles which are perfect for little hands, cut one thawed dinner roll in half making smaller pizza dough rounds.
