These crispy homemade fish sticks are so easy to make! Once you try this recipe you'll quit buying them from the grocery store.
Many of us have enjoyed fish sticks at some point in our lives. My mother frequently prepared the boxed variety, and I still love them today. However, have you ever stopped to consider how expensive those packages can be, particularly the beer-battered options? It's quite surprising
Plus, they often contain a long list of preservatives and unfamiliar ingredients. A few months ago, while browsing a magazine, I stumbled upon a recipe for Homemade Fish Sticks. It struck me that I had never considered making them from scratch before.
This recipe was so easy to prepare and tasted so much better than store-bought fish sticks. The most challenging part for me was selecting the type of fish to use; you can opt for cod, pollock, crappie or any mild white fish. This particular day I used cod fillets. I was pleasantly surprised with this recipe and we will definitely make these again.
If your children enjoy fish sticks, I highly recommend trying this homemade version next time to see how they compare. For a healthier alternative, you can also bake the fish sticks instead of pan-frying them.
