This CopyKat White Chocolate Mocha is one of the easiest coffee drinks to make, and just as convenient, affordable and delicious as the coffee shop version.
Since I discovered how to make a Homemade Gingerbread Latte, I've become obsessed with finding more copycat coffee recipes to try. I have to admit, I'm completely hooked! I never considered recreating my favorite coffee drinks at home, but it turns out to be a fantastic idea.
While I still believe Starbucks is unbeatable, my coffee habit was becoming too expensive. Making these drinks myself has significantly cut down on costs. Recently, I stumbled upon a copycat recipe for my beloved Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha, and I can't wait to give it a shot!
Although using vanilla syrup is ideas, it can be tricky to find. We managed to order some online, but in the meantime, I', trying out a recipe that uses white chocolate chips instead.
Update: Starbucks and grocery stores now offer flavored syrups, making them much more accessible than they were back in 2008 when they were hard to find.
I was pleasantly surprised at how closely it resembled the authentic flavor. The drink was rich and creamy, with a delicious white mocha flavor. This coffee drink would be perfect for holiday gatherings, especially since the recipe can be easily scaled up to serve more guests. I prefer to make mine using a double boiler, but I also think it would work wonderfully in a slow cooker for larger events.
The slow cooker would keep the drink warm, allowing you to set out whipped cream and other toppings for your guests to enjoy. If you would like to try this copykat version of my favorite coffee drink, follow the step-by-step instructions provided below. The full recipe is at the end of this post.
These are the ingredients you will need: whole milk, almond milk or oat milk, strong coffee, Nestle Ghirardelli white chocolate chips, whipped cream, cinnamon and white chocolate shavings (optional).
To create a makeshift double boiler, fill a pot with water and place a glass bowl on top. This method is effective if you don't have a traditional double boiler. Add the milk and white chocolate chips to the bowl, then bring the water to a boil before reducing the heat to a gentle simmer.
As you stir in the white chocolate chips, it may clump together initially, but it will soon begin to melt smoothly. Make sure your milk is hot and steaming before combining the two, as the chocolate chips will melt easily into the mixture.
Add 1/4 cup of milk mixture to a latte mug and then add about 1/2 cup of hot coffee, and finish off with more of the milk mixture. Mix everything together, and add a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon for garnish. You can also add white chocolate shavings for garnish.

THANK YOU!!!!!!! I JUST made this for the very first time... it's still hot so I have to wait for it to cool but I couldn't resist a taste.. so far the two sips I've had... I LOVE that I can make this at home!!!
I am very new to the whole coffee drinking scene, can't stand the taste of coffee..but I love hot chocolate. So one day when I was about to drop dead I stopped by the Starbucks stand in Target and asked them for a recomendation.. they gave me a WCM.. and I fell in love! However, any of our Starbucks are about 30 mins away across town..
So, it is just awesome that I can now make it for myself!! I didn't have a very strong coffee on hand so I just added some extra of the little package of trial coffee that I had..seems to have worked just fine.
My caffiene/chocolate addiction thank you and so does my wallet! :)
I'm so excited to try it!

Of raspberry or blueberry in mine. Thanks!!
Crock Pot: Prepare the milk mixture in the double boiler and then place it in a covered crock pot on the warm setting.
Make a pot of strong coffee and place it next to the crock pot along with the whipping cream, cinnamon or white chocolate shavings. Your guests can make their own White Chocolate Mocha's. Or if you plan early enough you can just prepare the entire recipe in the crock pot.
I'm a former manager. The recipes are easy to recreate at home.
Thanks for the post! Looking forward to indulging!
Strong coffee is just as it states. Regular coffee made stronger. To make strong coffee just increase the amount of ground coffee by half a scoop for every scoop of coffee you use.
Here is a link on how to make strong espresso type coffee using instant coffee.

We bought chocolate chips, strong coffee, milk and cool whip. It tastes great!!! But I'm confused
Would it taste even better adding vanilla extract or vanilla syrup?
I'm really happy that you've set up your own website and have in fact publish your thoughts. I admire your work and feel I can relate to what you've done. Most people can't even imagine having such talent. I hope that you know how lucky you are. :) Good luck to you in all your aims. :)
Cheers!
Was just reading your blog. First let me say I love white chocolate mocha. I too was spending $$$ at the coffee houses. When I retired, I bought my own espresso machine and found the white chocolate mocha syrup. While using the syrup I noticed it looked and smelled like sweetened condensed milk. Low and behold I have be using sweetened condensed milk in my lattes for years and it is much cheaper than the white chocolate mocha mix or the vanilla syrup. I do also use the vanilla syrup for my iced drinks, but for hot whites the sweetened condensed milk works great. In Hawaii they call it Thai coffee or Hawaiian coffee. It is the bomb and does not harden as it cools. I use espresso, non-fat milk, and 1 and 1/2 ounces of sweetened condensed milk for a 20 ounce drink. You can adjust the ratios to suit your own taste.
I was wondering though, at which point would you mix in the vanilla syrup and how much?
Thank you! ~CM
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
