So my husband and I found a way to feed them and see them all that day.We have a family breakfast with steak and eggs and and each kid's favorite breakfast foods, like pancakes and bacon and orange cinnamon rolls. It has gotten to be so large that we now have to use our Church's activity room to be able to seat everyone. dad grills the steaks and I cook the rest with help from my girls. My husbands parents and grandmother come too so we have a 5 generation celebration. We started this when my husband came home from Iraq 4 years ago. Its notabout which meal you share that day for us its about seeing each other and being Thankful we have what family we do have. Therefore I am soooo looking forward to spending it with family for the first time in a long time. Up until now it has been a non-event for me which was very dissappointing. My favorite dish that my Mother always made was her sweet potatoe souffle with brown sugar, butter, and pecans on top to give a sweet crunch to the potatoes. I hope she will make that again this year. I can hardly wait.Debhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03482834298553713373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8390396285139687239.post-10153791937020976652013-11-11T10:19:27.761-06:002013-11-11T10:19:27.761-06:00I love cooking but I hate all the prep work, so wi...I love cooking but I hate all the prep work, so with 7 children, I have a lot of helpers. My husband always helps me put the turkey in the bag. We're big eaters so it's usually a huge bird. 15 pounds or so. My son makes sure we're stocked up on all the ingredients, by doing the shopping. We get up early; put the bird in the oven and smell the wonderful aroma until it's time to eat!
