Made this cake last night. It smells and looks great. I haven't tried it yet. Made it for Labor Day Weekend festivities.I didn't use as much frosting as you did, just a personal preference. But you were right. I could have frosted everything in my house with just half of that frosting recipe. Can't wait to eat it. Oh!!My husband ate the batter (cleaned the bowl with a spoon) and gave it a thumbs up!

Yeah I knew to use cocoa powder with a chocolate or dark cake. But this cake is a bit light so I used flour on the mini's. I dont know why they recommened powdered sugar it was awful. Sugar burns. leslie it is a rich and awfully dangerous cake. With tht in mind make it.

Here is a tip on dusting the pans..if you are making a "dark" cake, dust the pans with cocoa powder instead of flour!

I love how pretty your bundt cake turned out, especially with the chocolate chips! I didn't want to put nuts in my cake either. I think I'll put some candy bar sprinkles on top of my cupcakes. I had to halve my recipe because I ran out of sugar (of all things to run out of.....) This is one fattening cake : )

A version of this recipe has been in my family for so long that it calls for 5 cent Milky Ways. We always bake in a bundt pan, never use frosting. This cake is best after a day or two. All the gooey stuff gathers at the bottom.

I really wanted to make this but after a 11 lb weight loss, I didn't. I always seem to be the dessert person too. I would've made this for last Thursday's dinner at parents, but it was only 3 of us and I didn't want the leftovers! It looks so delicious. I will definitely make one day!
