Bissell SpotClean Pet Review {Pet Stains Cleaned Easily}

I normally don't tackle too many cleaner reviews, but this one was definitely a needed one. If you have a puppy or small dog you might have the same problem (pet accidents). It's been quite some time since we've had a puppy around our house, so we really haven't had to deal with this issue.

About a year and half ago we got a new Dachshund named Dapper Dan. He's definitely the sweetest boy and we love him so much. Dappers a good dog, but very mischievous and spoiled to say the least. We also have another dog a chocolate lab named Freeway, but he's house trained.

Mr. Dapper on the other hand is pretty good, but he occasionally has a few accidents. At times he's so quick that I don't even know about it. They're usually small, but an accident no less.

When this happens I usually drag out our large steam cleaner, but that can get old really fast. At times I wished I had an alternative, but if I want it cleaned correctly a steam cleaner is the only way to go.

As a Walmart mom I was given the opportunity to try out the recently introduced Bissell Spot Clean Pet. I hadn't seen this pet cleaner before, so I jumped on the chance to try it out. I knew there had to be an easier way to clean up accidents.

The Bissell SpotClean Pet has a slim design and portable size. Everything is neatly attached and snaps right into place. The portable size is one of my favorite features. Anytime I notice a pet accident I can just grab the machine and everything is right there in arms reach to tackle the job.

Bissell SpotClean Features:
  • Heatwave technology maintains consistent water temperature while cleaning
  • (3) Tough Stain tools for cleaning stairs, upholstery and hard-to-reach places
  • Deep Reach Tool removes embedded dirt and stains from the bottom-up
  • Removable water tanks for easy filling and emptying
  • Slim design for easy storage
  • Soft-grip handle so you can clean with comfort
  • Trial-size Bissell 2X Little Green Pet Formula, 8 oz included
  • Bissell Oxygen Boost Formula, 16 oz included for permanent stain removal.
The Spot Clean Pet has a easy grip handle and removable water tanks for easy filling and emptying. To get started fill the cleaner compartment with hot water up to the water fill line (choose small or large mess). Next add the Bissell Pet cleaner up to the cleaner line. Snap the water tank chamber in place and choose which tool you will need for the job.

Plug the machine in and turn on by pressing the big green button on the top. Using the trigger, spray the amount of cleaner needed and rub to clean the spot. As you're rubbing the deep cleaner will suck up all the dirty water and mess. Make sure to go over the stain a couple times to ensure all the water has been extracted.

The Bissell SpotClean Pet uses a Heatwave Technology to maintain consistent water temperature while cleaning. It also stores the messy clean up in a separate, removable container so they don't flow through the machine. Gross look at the icky mess above.

So far I have only used the regular cleaner tool, because I've only had small accidents. I'm keeping my finger crossed that I won't ever have to use the large deep reach tool for large pet messes. On the brighter side at least it's there if I need it. Below are a few stains that I've tackled with the new Spot Clean Pet.

Pet Stains
Those are the worse, but they do happen. The key to cleaning pet stains is catching them as soon as they happen. I know easier said than done, but the quicker you get it cleaned up the less likely it will soak into your carpet. Dapper is quick, so sometimes I just happen upon a stain and have to deal with it then, but it still cleans up easily and leaves a nice scent.

Dirt Stains
These stains seem to happen one way or another in our house.  I never know where they come from and the guilty party never comes forward, so I guess they just magically appear. No worries though because this wonderful little machine is great at cleaning up all those dirty foot prints tracked into the house. It's also the perfect size for my daughter to handle alone. I usually just have to fill and empty the machine and she does the rest.

Upholstery Stains
Even though mom says no eating on the couch somehow they still manage to do it. One day I was using the Spot Clean Pet to clean a food stain on the carpet and wondered how it handled upholstery stains? I tried it on a spot that wasn't too noticeable and it came right up.

The suction power on this little machine is unbelievable. As you're cleaning and rubbing the stain the suction removes the cleaner and water so fast it doesn't even have time to absorb into the material.

Anytime I have this little machine in my hand I find myself trying to find spots anywhere in my house. If you knew me you would understand, because I'm so OCD when it comes to cleaning.  I do wish the hose was a bit longer, but that was the only issue I had.

I love the slim-portable design, because it allows for easy shelf storage in our garage.  Now I have a portable pet cleaner on hand anytime I run into a messy puppy problem. You can purchase this portable pet cleaner at Walmart for $98.84.

With the Bissell Spot Clean Pet now mommy and Dapper Dan can both be happy campers.

I had some folks ask about our other dog Freeway, so I have included a photo. Such a sweet boy. He's a rescued Chocolate Lab we saved in 2008.

What a handy tool! We end up scrubbing and scrubbing (and scrubbing) stains between having our carpets cleaned. With a toddler and pets it can be exhausting!

We have the older model of this (the half-circle one).. We just keep the cleaner tank full so all we have to do is pull it out and plug it in. Depending on the stain i sometimes dont even empty the dirty tank. Ill just put it back in the closet for the next mess. It contains the smell so well.

I hope they improved the "motorized" brush. It is a joke on mine.

The brush worked fine for me. I have also left the remainder of the cleaner in the water tank, but not for more than a couple days. I empty the dirty side after each use.

@Cheerful Homemaker, I remember the days of a puppy and a toddler, so I feel for you. Things can get messy fast and almost immpossible to keep up with.
I totally need this! haha 4 Dogs and yes, please yes.

Thank you so much for doing this post! I told the hubby we needed one because pulling the huge upright was just exhausting for a little spot! He decided to stop at walmart and call me to see if he was getting the right one, which he always does and of course I'm like "ummmm". So I found your post and told him exactly what it was! I look forward to reading your other posts!

Thanks for the review! You have convinced me and I'm off to buy one in the next few days. I also have two dashchunds, and my newest addition Luna, is just a terror when it comes to going to the toilet on the carpet (they can be so stubborn dashies!) Rolo is house trained, but he also previously made a mess or two. Before I got Luna I cleaned the carpets and now she has made a mess of them again. Perseverence, but in the meantime a spot cleaner to clean up little accidents is the go (and then later down the track once babies come along to )
