Happy First Day of Fall! Lets Celebrate with some of my Favorite Fall Recipes

Happy Fall Ya'll!!! Fall has to be my favorite season of all seasons. The cooler weather, fall colors, pumpkins, apple picking and all that yummy fall food.

September through November is nothing but apple and pumpkin recipes around here. So don't be surprised if you get bombarded with a ton of both. I just can't help myself.

Today is officially the first day of fall, but here in Texas Fall is still a ways away. Today's forcast is a high of 88.

Not to bad but defiantly no,t fall like weather. Around here at Halloween you never know if you will need a coat or a tank top under your Halloween costume. Every year is different, so we will just have to wait and see.

I wanted to celebrate the first day of fall by sharing some of my favorite fall recipes here at Mommy's Kitchen. Pictured above is my favorite Homemade Apple Pie

This recipe in my opinion is the best apple pie I have ever had. I am also sharing my recipe for Pumpkin Bread, Homemade Spiced Applesauce and much more.

I hope you enjoy some of my Fall Recipes; maybe some of them will become a favorite in your house as well. As soon as the weather turns cooler I will be breaking out with some soup recipes.
So until then enjoy the following recipes and I hope you bake up something nice and yummy today.

Hot Tamale Spiced Cider

Mmmm, it's fall here! The leaves are changing, and I need a jacket in the morning. I love it!

That apple pie recipe look amazing!

The link in your first paragraph for Apple Pie takes a person to the Pumpkin Oatmeal Scotchies - I tried it twice, just in case I'd clicked wrong, but... yeah.

I LOVE homemade apple pie, the storebought stuff just doesn't do it!

I fixed the link to the apple pie and added the hot tamale spiced cider. Thank you for pointing out that I forgot the recipe. I made that stuff every other day last fall and winter. It is so addicting.

Oh my! I've just stumbled upon your Blog at work and all I can think about is going home to cook up some Southern goodness! We have just headed into spring down here in the southern hemisphere and as nice as it is I'm slightly envious of all the Fall goodies coming your way! What a great recipe collection - thanks for sharing. :)

You have to try Paula Deen's Shepherd's pie. I'm not a huge vegetable fan so I've never attempted one before, but she used corn and I thought I could give it a try. One of my family's favorite meals is meat loaf/mashed potatoes/corn and this was like that all rolled into one (with bread included because she adds a biscuit mix to the top!). It is quick, easy and oh so yummy! She used onions in her ground beef, but I skipped it and didn't miss it. I also keep Costco's instant mashed potatoes on hand in case of emergency and I used them in this and they were wonderful. Sorry for the long post!
